Tap Dancers and Live Musicians for Tap Dance Project
SEEKING TAP DANCERS AND LIVE MUSICIANS FOR UPCOMING TAP DANCE PROJECT FOR THE 2014-
Seeking strong tap dancers/hoofers and diverse musicians interested in working & collaborating together on
an upcoming tap dance project in the Hartford, CT Area. Company member of Connecticut's O'D N TAP is
looking to produce a new small act to tour around venues & nightclubs in the Hartford, CT area.
Tap Dancers should be strong in technique, improvisation, and open to learning new choreography.
Musicians should be able to work with dancers closely to understand musicality and rhythms while being able
to improvise. Jazz/Pop, R&B, Blues, and Hip Hop music training is a plus.
Rehearsals are to take place in Rocky Hill, CT and Wethersfield, CT at 2 local dance studio locations starting
in Sept. with a flexible schedule.

CASTING CALL FOR WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY FILM THESES:
Audition for short films by Wesleyan University senior filmmakers. Shooting in the Middletown, Connecticut
area, mid-October through November. Unpaid, but video copy, credit, and meals provided. Auditions held at
Wesleyan University: Saturday, September 20th and Saturday, September 27th, from 11am-5pm. If interested,

10/12 & 10/13 The Christmas Schooner / Connecticut Theatre Company

We are casting principle roles of 4 women and 6 men, as well as a boy playing age 9, a boy playing age 15 and
a girl playing age 9. There will also be ensemble roles available for more children and adults.
Please come prepared with 16 bars of a musical theater song in the style of the show. Monologues are not
needed, but you may be asked to cold read from the script. A call back audition, if needed, will be held on
Wednesday October 15th, 6:30 to 8:30pm. Those auditioners who the director wishes to see further will be

9/15 & 9/17 A Charlie Brown Christmas and Frosty the Snowman / New Britain
New Britain Youth Theater begins the holiday season early with auditions for two Christmas classics, A Charlie
Brown Christmas and Frosty the Snowman. Auditions are for children ages 8 through 14 on Monday,
September 15, and Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Holmes Elementary School at 2150 Stanley Street in
New Britain (off Hartford Road (Route71) near West Farms Mall). Audition times both days begin at 6:00 p.m.
Rehearsals will be on Monday and Wednesday evenings. The production will be performed at the same
location on December 5, 6, and 7, 2014. Visit site for more information
9/26 & 9/27 SEUSSICAL, JR / NCTC
Auditions for Kids 8-18 for SEUSSICAL JR, September 26 & 27
The Newington Children's Theatre Company is holding auditions for their winter musical, Seussical Jr.,
September 26th and 27th, by appointment. Auditions are open to kids, ages 8-18. Rehearsals: October 4th,
October 11th, October 28th-December 11th (Rehearsals are held two to three times a week in the evenings, as
well as, some Saturday afternoons) Performances: December 12-21, 2014 (Friday & Saturday at 7pm and
Saturday & Sunday at 2pm).
Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in
Seussical Jr., a fantastical musical extravaganza! Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus
McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust
containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child who gets in trouble for thinking too many
"thinks." Horton’s challenge is twofold – not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and
dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La
Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses
faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge
All rehearsals and performances will take place at the NCTC Performing Arts Theatre located at 743 North
Mountain Road in Newington. While there is no cost to audition, if cast, there is a $250 participation fee.

Interested kids are asked to prepare one monologue from the audition packet (available for download at www.
NCTCArts.org, or hardcopies available at the theatre), as well as, prepare a musical theatre song of their
choice. Fill out the audition form and attach a recent picture of your child to the back of the form to bring with
them to their audition. Auditions appointments will last five to ten minutes. Not quite 8 years old? Check out
NCTC’s In Performance classes that include your 5-8 year old as part of the ensemble in the production. To
